Autos are considered second class citizens all over the world, providing cheap labor and an easy scapegoat when things go wrong. In London, when a local retired professor is thrown off of his balcony, many try to blame “Charles”, a second-hand library Auto which the professor owned. Charles, as well as a well-meaning idealistic lawyer fight the corrupt prosecution who hope to cover up the deed as an “industrial accident” caused by a malfunctioning Auto. Convinced of his personhood, his innocence, and his ability to prove both, Charles becomes the center of one of the most important trials in all of England, if not the world: Whether an intelligent, articulate, and created thing can be a person, or just a machine playing at life.

A small little piece to commemorate the return of my girlfriend, who was away in Europe for the past 4 months. Man I miss her, and by the time this thing gets posted, I will be heading down to LAX and picking her up. I’ve been dating her for thirteen months, and I love her so very much. I have printed out this thing on some good photo paper and will use it as a sign while I wait for her.
(The piece itself isn’t my strongest work, but I’m happy with it. I experimented drawing straight into Photoshop, as well as with some textures and color that I haven’t before.)
